I think it's like Thanksgiving..but General Conference style.

For Sunday afternoon's General Conference Session, most of us roommates ate at Jenny's house in St. Anthony. Her parents made some delicious homemade food! Mom's cookin' beats college cooking any day. This was definitely a special treat :)

First of all. Let me just say her house was gorgeous! haha :D

Here is what we had...

Above left is baby spinach salad, almonds, bacon bits and a special dressing called "Lauren's dressing" I'm usually picky about salad actually especially spinach salad because (at least for me) it's hard to find something that really compliments the taste (for example, I don't like Caesar dressing and spinach salad together) ...but this was good! Spinach is also less 'crunchy' (in a vegetable sense) compared to iceberg lettuce that everyone is used to. The dressing, which mainly consist of onions and sugar fits perfectly with the bacon bits and almonds and the light taste of baby spinach.

Jenny actually planted the corn herself so that was ljitt straight from the backyard handpicked good stuff! Corn is always good with butter so no complaints there :) Even without butter, you can tell the corn was definitely fresh tasting compared to the ones you get in a grocery store or can. (of course)

Next we have Slow Cooked Lasagna!
I never had slow cooked lasagna before! It was great because it wasn't salty or too meaty or too saucy. (Maybe a little watery/oily from slow cooking?) I thought it could have used more cheese, but that's my opinion. It didn't have that cheesiness like the ones you get at Olive Garden. (I love cheese :D) Of course, it doesn't taste like your traditional baked lasagna, but the good ol' flavor is still there. It's easy to make, no hassle so if you're in a hurry this one's for you!

Last, but not least, we had Pumpkin Spiced Cake! This was amazing! When Jenny brought it out, I thought it was carrot cake actually. It almost tastes like carrot cake? Maybe? It was nice and moist and it was a nice finish to the lasagna. The cinnamony/pumpkin spice smelled so good too. yummm. Cream cheese frosting made it 10x better :)
